Two complete voices built around internal interaction
MODEL 615 is a dual self-modulating wave generator that combines oscillator morphing, frequency modulation, multimode filtering and integrated mixing in two mirrored voice paths.
Each voice provides pitch, unison, morph and waveshape controls, a fixed/morph behaviour switch, FM amount and modulation, filter resonance, frequency and type, plus a mixer for sub-oscillator, oscillator level and filtered amount. The design encourages complex movement without separating generation, modulation and mixing into unrelated modules.
A compact architecture for internally animated voices
The two repeated sections combine source generation, self-modulation, filtering and balance, making each lane a complete instrument that can still interact with the other.
Pitch and unison
Pitch establishes the voice register while unison introduces related layers around it, creating width, beating and a denser fundamental identity.
Morph and waveshape
Morph moves through intermediate states and waveshape defines the underlying contour. Fixed/morph switching determines whether the shape remains stable or participates in the transformation.
Self-modulation depth
FM amount and FM modulation controls determine how strongly each voice perturbs its own frequency structure, from subtle animation to complex sideband-rich spectra.
Multimode filter
Frequency and resonance work with low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and band-reject types, giving each voice a flexible spectral finishing stage.
Sub-oscillator mix
The sub-oscillator restores or reinforces low-frequency weight, balancing the brighter material generated by morphing and self-modulation.
Oscillator and filter balance
Dedicated oscillator volume and filter amount controls define how much direct and processed material reaches the final voice output.
Stable feedback inside a morphing voice
The DSP implementation must keep internal modulation bounded, smooth morph and filter changes, and manage the combined levels of oscillator, sub-oscillator and filtered paths. Aliasing control becomes important at high modulation depths.
From paired bass voices to unstable spectral layers
MODEL 615 can create dual bass structures, detuned leads, animated drones or two interacting layers with contrasting filter types. Its integrated architecture makes timbral movement performable from a compact set of controls.
Self-modulation makes a voice behave less like a static oscillator and more like a small system reacting to its own activity.
MODEL 615 keeps two complete voices visible side by side. Their symmetry makes comparison immediate, while small differences in morph, modulation and filtering can produce highly divergent identities. Complexity grows from interaction rather than from a crowded signal path.
